About Us

At Kooky Kids World, uur mission is to ignite the imaginations of children around the world and inspire a lifelong passion for reading.

We believe stories can open doors. They spark imagination, build language, create calm moments and help children discover the joy of reading.

Kooky Kids World is a free multilingual children’s story website for ages 0–12. We publish fairy tales, folktales, nursery rhymes and original stories, with many stories also available as read-aloud audio so children can listen as they follow along.

We created Kooky Kids World to make it easier for children and families to discover and enjoy stories at home and in school.

Founded by former CELTA teachers Liz and Robert Lewis, Kooky Kids World grew from a shared love of storytelling, learning and children’s imagination.

As a 100% free resource, we are passionate about helping more children enjoy stories, including families facing financial hardship. We also work with food banks to help reach those who may not always have easy access to books at home.

Liz makes the magic happen behind the scenes. Shaping the platform, she leads the planning, organisation and day-to-day development of Kooky Kids World, bringing new ideas and resources to life and helping new adventures take shape for children and families.

Robert Lewis

Co-founder

Chief storyteller and creative heart at Kooky Kids World, Robert helps shape the stories, ideas and imagination behind the site. With a background in TV, teaching and storytelling, he creates tales designed to entertain children, spark imagination and inspire a lasting love of reading. “I love crafting stories that spark fun, curiosity and a little bit of mischief.”
