Inspiration for Meals and Lunchbox Ideas

Gone are the days of the simple peanut butter lunch sandwich. When I was younger, many of my lunchboxes consisted of this old school lunch staple with a sugary albeit refreshing drink. Looking back, these were not the best choices for a young child needing brain food at school. Although, I did get an ‘I love you’ note snuck into my lunchbox from my mom from time to time which helped get me through the day.

While chatting to my mom about choosing healthier food choices for my son we had a good giggle about how much things have changed.

Now when she’s preparing meals for my son and her other grandkids it’s all wheat-free snacks, organic bars and mint infused water. Things have really changed from when I was a kid!

We now have so many good and healthy food sources for our growing kids. It informs our shopping lists and meals plans. When I’m preparing a meal and lunch boxes for school, I often need some inspiration to keep things nutritious and interesting to make sure my son gets what he needs and enjoys the food he eats.
