After a long winter’s hibernation, all Dylan’s forest friends want him to come out to play, but he’s still a very sleepy bear.

This simple to follow rhyming story highlights the value of friendship, keeping active and of course the fun of dancing to your own beat. All of this, whilst inspiring kids to go outside with their friends and play.

Colleen Roberts

Colleen Roberts was born in Wales, the land of Celtic storytelling. As a child, she loved to read and was raised on a diet of classic children’s books by authors such as Roald Dahl or Dr Seuss and she was a big fan of Winnie the Pooh.

After graduation she taught pre-school kindergarten for many years and fell in love with children’s imaginations, she loved to make up stories for her class.

This was a tradition she continued with her own four kids. “Having 2 Boys & 2 Girls, I was always adapting my stories to fit my toddlers moods. I think I learned a lot about the art of storytelling.

“Infants can be very demanding, so I learned fast.”

Colleen believes passionately that reading should be fun and entertaining for both kids and parents. Her home is always filled with laughter and a variety of pets including an occasional visiting Donkey. She loves contemporary children’s picture books such as the ‘Grumpy Monkey’ by Suzanne Lang & ‘Frank was a Monster who wanted to Dance’ by Keith Graves.

In between books, she enjoys Yoga and taking her dogs for long walks through the countryside, whilst dreaming up new stories along the way. She finds much of her inspiration in nature and whilst on vacation to Canada, she fell in love with it’s habitat and wildlife.

Dylan the Dancing Bear is the first of a series that follow the Adventures of Dylan & his Forest friends.
